Grace's Story

Grace Nyirahabimana
Heart to Heart Project Graduate

Grace thought her life would never be the same again after her family lost their lives in the Rwandan massacre of 1994. Her parents and two younger siblings were murdered in that horrible genocidal war between warring rival factions. She thought that she would never smile and feel safe again. She made her way through danger and threats to Mbarara, Uganda. There she was taken in by the good Sisters of the Archdiocese of Mbarara. Under the care of the Archbishop and his staff, she felt safe and learned a new skill. She now creates ethnic Ugandan shirts and sells them. Now she smiles again, feels safe and sends her love to her sponsors in the United States. Won’t you help to bring hope by sponsoring someone like Grace.

Congratulations, “Graduate Grace” of the Heart to Heart Project.

Clare's Story

Clare Natukunda
Heart to Heart Project Graduate

Clare graduated in January 2007. Both her parents are deceased. Clare has a sibling
sister named Allen. Clare does some volunteer work with a charitable project in the Archdiocese called Caritas, Mbarara.

She works with people "up-country," especially farmers who live in groups. She and a colleague, Amos, teach them how to be better farmers by improving their skills regarding agricultural production. She writes that it is not easy to do this volunteer work. It requires a lot of courage and commitment.

She is grateful and feels that she has people who care for her even though she lost her parents.

Congratulations, “Graduate Clare” of the Heart to Heart Project.
